๐ง Created in Unity 6 with URP, using AI-powered tools for scripting support
This is my submission for the Bezi 2025 Rhythm Game Jam! I joined the jam with only 3.5 days left before the submission deadline. Naturally, I spent a little too much time experimenting with Bezi itself — testing its strengths and learning how it integrates with Unity.
My Thoughts on Bezi:
What worked well:
Bezi is super helpful, especially for early development. It integrates cleanly into Unity and acts like a very smart rubber duck — great for debugging and brainstorming. It helped me prototype ideas quickly and get systems off the ground.
Limitations I noticed:
Like other AI tools, Bezi sometimes hallucinated or offered off-base advice. I found it shines best when creating new scripts from scratch, but it can struggle a bit when refactoring or tweaking complex existing systems. Still, for fast iteration in a jam context, it was a big help.
Future Plans
I may continue to work on this project in my spare time, as there were a ton of things I wanted to add to this game but was unable to due to time constraints. These ideas include, but are not limited to:
- Scoreboard - I really wanted to get in a basic save/load scoreboard system, but I honestly spent too much time playing with Bezi, making my own beat creation system, and finding assets.
- Better NPC Car behavior! The other cars on the road currently have a very basic avoidance system, but there are still occasions where a traffic jam occurs, and the player is forced to crash.
- More sounds and beats!
- Support for uploading a song and it generating the beats shown on the road.
- More landscapes and scenery
- Power ups that you collect and then choose to use whenever, like Mario Kart "?" boxes
- Multipliers for hitting space bar on the beat consecutively
- Better lighting and add particle FX!
